How to add a playlist, what the app's messages mean, and how to reach us.

Add a playlist

Sinelo plays only what you add. You need the details your source gave you: an M3U link, or a server address with a username and password (Xtream Codes).

With an M3U link

  1. On the home screen, choose Add playlist.
  2. Choose M3U.
  3. Fill in Name — any name you like — and M3U URL.
  4. If your source gave you a programme guide address, enter it in EPG guide URL (optional).
  5. Choose Import.

With Xtream Codes

  1. On the home screen, choose Add playlist.
  2. Choose Xtream.
  3. Fill in Name, Server, Username and Password.
  4. If your source gave you a programme guide address, enter it in EPG guide URL (optional).
  5. Choose Import.

The first time you add a source, Sinelo asks Before you add your source. Choosing I confirm and continue confirms that you hold the right to access and use that source. The confirmation is kept on your device only and is never sent anywhere.

Common questions

Does Sinelo come with any channels?

No. Sinelo is a player only: it includes no sources and provides no channels, films or series. It plays only what you add, and it does not sell, suggest or link to any content service.

What does “The server refused the connection” mean?

The full message is:

The server refused the connection from this device — check your VPN or network, or your subscription's limits.

It means the server of your source was reached and answered, but turned this device away. That decision is the server's, not Sinelo's. The usual reasons are a VPN or a network that the source does not accept, or a limit on your subscription with that source. Check those, or ask your source.

Every message names what to check. Two more you may see:

The username or password isn't correct — check them in “Edit source details”.

All the connections your subscription allows are in use — stop playback on another device and try again.

What is “Send error report”?

When something fails, Sinelo may show a Send error report button. Nothing is sent unless you press it. Pressing it opens your own email app with a new message to support@sinelo.app and a small text file attached, which you can read before you decide to send it.

The file contains only:

  • the app's version and build type, the Android version, and whether the device is a phone, a tablet or a TV;
  • for each of the last 20 failures: when it happened, a number that identifies the playlist inside the app, what was being done, the kind of failure, the server's response code and how long it took.

It never contains a source's address or sign-in details, the name of a channel or film, the name or model of your device, or any identifier of you or your device. The Privacy Policy describes this in full.

Where is my data kept?

On your device only. Sinelo has no account and sends nothing to the developer; your sources, lists, favourites and settings are stored in the app's private storage, with sign-in details encrypted.
